OC Classic Cars & Coffee 5/10

Most of you, if you know me, know that at heart, I am clearly not a “car gal.” Instead, on weekend car-mornings, I am in constant search of the color palette personified.

I always want to be in the passenger’s seat of the primrose girl, with my sweetheart driving us somewhere fun at about eighty-miles an hour, in the marine-layered, sixty-degrees’ early-morning, SoCal skies.

It’s “the process” of visiting with whoever’s on the other end of our ride, and how bright a gorgeous color is their paint job, or how curvy are the lines of their car, or how funky is the black vanity plate, that floats my Alice-boat.

Photo ops click off in my head like the morning alarm that got us there. If I can get you to put your hood down for a quick sec for my shot, even better.

Do I know who you know, while we walk around, exchanging morning greetings and getting salutary hugs in return? What I really love is introducing ‘new’ people, (and, yes, I am acutely aware that that’s a relative term) to other parts of our Saturday morning group. If you already know the person, I’m walking you over to meet, I always  apologize but give you six new reasons why I’m continuing our walk! The fun part is when I get two- degrees of separation back from you that you established weeks ago! One small world story after another! The tripod is starting to come out closer to arrival than departure and the smiling faces are less encumbered by layers of fabric now that the weather is a little nicer at these early hours.

As we go to bed tonight, Friday the 23rd, with our clothes laid out for the Scottish Games tomorrow, John and I will have the same conversation we have every night-before a show, wondering who will be there, wherever that is, the next day.

For tomorrow it’s the non-stop sounds of bagpipes... always a great day! Hope to see you soon!
