Supercar Sunday 1/5

Left for Pierce College a little later in the morning since it was cold, plus the lot doesn’t start to Hill up until after 8am. I pulled in next to Jack Gies’ black BJ8. Jack was still getting straightened out in his parking space so it was a few minutes before he greeted me and said I had missed Phil Caliva and the Kaytises, Clay and Monica. They had left for the “bacon run” at PCH and Trancas Canyon as he was pulling in.
Jack and I were left to represent the Healey marque and answer the many questions about our cars from the interested spectators. While Jack took a stroll through the many varied cars, I headed for the food truck for sustenance and hot coffee. An excellent cheesy, chorizo and egg burrito managed to quell the rumblings in my stomach as the coffee cup warmed my hands.
The show had a large turnout of Chevrolets, pickups and tri-5’s were well represented. Besides our Healeys, and the usual MG’S, Triumphs, and Jaguars, a Mini Cooper and mini Riley represented the small British car and a late-model Aston showed what a big saloon should look like. There is always something unique to draw interest and this month it was the mini cabover truck with the electric bike on the bed that got a lot of looks.
