Pulled into the parking lot by the Corner Bakery off of Foothill Blvd and Michillinda Ave about 7:45 in the morning and the numbers of classics on hand was rapidly growing. As I parked, I saw a number of club members cars. As I walked in to the Corner Bakery I saw Phil Caliva, Chuck Lakowski, Bob Bolling, and Dan Burrola seated at a table eating. Then Peter Roses came up and said that he and Steve Gerow, and Lon Bender were in a booth in the corner. As I was sitting down to eat George Merino showed up followed by Mike Biss and Anna Johansson in Mike’s classic MG.
After eating the group spent time checking out the wide variety of cars on hand until about 9;30, when cars started departing for the cruise down Colorado Blvd. Seven cars left as a group, Peter, Steve, Phil, Chuck, George, Bob, and me. Along the way George pulled to the curb, got out his chair and parked himself to watch the rest of the classics drive by. The rest of us continued west until we ran into a street blockage. We skirted around the Parade route and headed past the Rose Bowl and up into the hills above the arroyo. Low clouds impeded the view so we continued the drive descending into Glendale where people headed off in all directions.
