LA Cars & Coffee Griffith Park 12/29

I left my house in Glendale in a heavy fog for the short drive to the entrance to GrifHith Park at Victory Blvd and the 134 Fwy. Then it’s another short drive past the LA Zoo, the Autry Museum, the golf course, and finally a right turn up to the parking lots by the Carousel. I’m now at the location of the cars and coffee and its starting to Hill up. I park at the end of the lot near the coffee and donut truck.
I grab a coffee from the truck and do a walk about, knowing it will be a while before I’m joined by Phil and Chuck who went to the Horseless Carriage show at the race track in Arcadia Hirst. A very different group of cars makes appearances at this show. There are more types of Volvos here and in large numbers. VW’s galore, BMW’s, mid-century American, rat rods, and the unique – a googly-eyed Citroen. Met a new Healey owner from Altadena who was driving his BT7, a sound driver but a real beater. His wife’s TBird was much better looking.
Chuck and Phil finally arrived, with Chuck Hilling the space next to me that had been Hilled with a Fiat 500 and Phil parking his giant, modern, pickup a few spaces away. Another trip for coffee and donuts and then we are holding court at our cars while watching the crowds and cars go by.
