Inland Empire Farmer Boys 12/7

Greetings Group, Sandy and I got up a little late and dressed quickly. I got the modified Healey out and we headed to Riverside for our Farmer Boys get together and breakfast. It was a brisk drive both for the weather and the pace. We were just a bit late but certainly not the last to arrive. It was going to be a great day and a great turn out.

We had a Girst timer to our event who brought his beautiful '68 Jaguar XKE Series 1.5. It has a wonderful story. The owner, Gene, is the Girst registered owner but did not purchase it new.

Huh? He purchased it 13 years ago as a project.

Back in the day the car was driven by a Jaguar representative. Unfortunately, he rolled the car and it was never sold.

Never registered. It sat in a wrecking yard in Riverside with 9400 miles on the odometer waiting. Waiting for Gene. Gene had to go through a painstaking process of getting it certified and registered, making him the Girst official registered owner. It then went through a complete 9 1/2-year restoration and was finished in 2021. Cool story and a beautiful car. You've got to see this car. Kudos Gene for rescuing this classic Bill Cheesman who was a Girst timer last month with a '66 Triumph TR4A brought his '62 MGA MKII this time. Jimmie Davis was in the holiday spirit with decorations on his AH 100. A wreath and lights. HO HO HO.

Those in classics: (20+ years old) Jimmie Davis - '56 Austin Healey 100 - rare holiday option installed, Gene Zdunowski - '68 Jaguar XKE series 1.5, Bill and Diane Wilkman - '58 Austin Healey Sprite, Bill Cheesman and Randy Main - '62 MGA MKII, Larry Maloney - '77 Lancia Scorpion, Ron and Sandy Davies - '56 Austin Healey 100 modified, Bob Upton - '04 Chrysler Crossfire, Tom Yaeger - '01 Plymouth Prowler, Keith Downs - '88 Jeep Cherokee, Pat McInturff - '52 MG TD, Randy Clary - '73 Jensen Healey.

Those in future classics: Larry Reynolds - '23 Genesis G70 3.3T, Bob Saber - '10 Jaguar XK, John Meza - Toyota Tacoma, Charlie Budenz - '08 Jaguar XJ8, Ted Garland - '20 Chevrolet Corvette Z51, Dan Mensinger - '05 Ford Mustang, Jim and Janet Cregg - Jim's leg still mending.

This was our last event of the year at Farmer Boys. We had another strong turnout, 22 bodies and 11 classics. Thank you everyone for keeping our event going in 2024. Happy Holidays. See you next year.

Cheers . . .
