Club members gathered at the Shoreline Yacht Club in Long Beach for this year’s Holiday Party. They arrived bearing gifts, extra batteries and pockets of cash to spend on raffle tickets for Prime seating at the Rose Parade.
Members renewed acquaintances and greeted people they hadn’t seen in an age. At the appointed time, President Mike Biss everyone had had their Gill of chicken, beef, mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, pear and walnut salad, and delicious rolls Mike covered a few items of interest to the membership including the need for a new Historian, the 2025 Healey Week in the fall at Yosemite, and farther in the future the 2027 International Healey Meet at Lake Tahoe.
Steve Kirby gave an update on the Tech Force student, Samuel White, at McPherson College who we are giving some financial support to.
(McPherson College offers a bachelor’s degree in Automotive Restoration Technology). He also took up a collection to send a Christmas Gift to Samuel.
Tim McNiff was then asked to present the results of the Spirit Award campaign for 2024 and present the trophy to this year’s winner. Not surprisingly, Phil Caliva was the high points member, but as last year’s winner he presented the trophy to Chuck Lakowski, the second-place finisher. Tim also made the point that only 84 members out of over 200 earned Spirit Points.
With the business portion complete, dessert was served and the Board members convened in the back corner for a Board of Directors meeting.
