Los Angeles Cars & Coffee at Griffith Park 11/24

Club members Phil Caliva, Tim McNiff, Monica Lago-Kaytis, and I found each other at opposite ends of the long Griffith Park parking lot where an eclectic mix of cars and car enthusiasts gathered to ogle at and show off their wheels. Still recovering from his wrist injury, Phil brought his daily-driver truck. I had eye surgery over a week ago, so I rode shotgun in Monica’s Sprite (with one eye held shut on the freeway). Tim drove his unmistakable fiery red Big Healey. Despite only having two AH’s in attendance, they got a lot of attention and praise. When I say the vibe was eclectic, I mean it - there was everything from Nissan Maximas to Saabs, to Porsches and Land Rovers, VWs and Corvettes. That applies to the people too, young and old, rich and poor, hipster and gangster - a true LA scene. As Phil put it, “When I got here I thought it was gonna be all sh**boxes, but there’s some pretty nice cars out here.” A coffee and donut truck called “Hustle and Dough” did brisk business too. Let’s get more members out there next time to show this fun crowd how we roll.
