OC Crystal Cove CC & Coffee 2/14

I got up early on Valentine’s Day to drive Clay and me (since Clay broke his toe and is unable to drive) to Crystal Cove for our club event. Clay had bought me a lovely card and box of my favorite chocolates... the day was starting off right! My first long drive in Clay’s 3000 was a ton of fun even though his clutch is so far from my seat that I must use a pillow behind my back so I can reach it! First world problems, I know. It’s my own fault for driving my Bugeye so hard that the valve springs broke. Baby is now with Tom Coby at Speedwell getting fixed and the next time you see her, she’ll have new shoes. I purchased a beautiful set of Minilites from the UK that he is installing, and I’m very excited.

Back to the topic at hand, we hoped to find some other club members but unfortunately, it was just Clay and me and one other Healey belonging to Dick Ames. We didn’t see Dick, but we did see his beautiful blue Healey. After a really yummy breakfast at Parakeet Café, Clay and I drove back up the coast to home but not before getting a couple of shots of two rarely seen vehicles.

One was a 1950 Ghia bodied Alfa Romeo 6c2500, one of only four built. The other was a Bugatti that everyone was drooling over... but not me. I prefer the Alfa!
