LA Cars and Coffee 10/26

26 October, the last Sunday of the month, is a Healey points day at Griffith Park, near the Carousel we meet up with an eclectic group of hot rodders and vintage car folks. This is a great spot and fun to attend! At zero dark hour I arrived with my Nasty Boy 1960 BN7, with a 327 powered Chevy Motor and open exhaust headers, to wake up the park. It is fun to set off car alarms in the Hood! I was driving in a dark area with not much visibility in my car’s poor old lighting, and it was a challenge to find the show area. I was able to remember the badly lighted area and arrived to my parking spot safely, only to find a single Camaro with folks bundled up against the chill. I parked the beast and headed straight for the coffee truck to get my Mocha coffee and Apple fritters before the crowd showed up! Soon Clay and Monica Kaytis showed up with both their Healey's, Monica drove her delightful and fast little Bug Eye Sprite and Clay drove his 1960 BT7 (Dexter’s old car) award winning Best in Foreign Car at Saturdays Car Show at the Balboa Pier, Newport Beach put on by the Knights of Columbus to benefit the local Elementary School. Just after the Kaytis's parked in their spots our fearless leader and Club Newsletter Editor showed up with his trusty1963 BJ7 and looking fine! After a few discussions and browsing the show we settled to the question of who would write the article for this show. Since we had a three person coin toss on Saturday (Monica lost to me and Clay lost the toss to Monica, so Clay is writing the Balboa Show article and would not toss again on Sunday. So guess who lost the coin toss to Monica and is writing this article (not again!).
We all had a great time at the show and after a couple of hours there we all headed to our barns, and I went back to my shop to do some needed welding.
See you all on the road for the next Healey adventure. Ciao, your Paisan
