From the President

Hope you’re out enjoying the great spring weather and getting your great cars out and stretching their legs. I had a chance to get one of the cars out for a spirited drive through the So Cal hills to check out the wildflowers. Unfortunately, Angeles Crest Highway was closed, so more freeway driving than I would have liked, but still some amazing back roads and beautiful colors.

Key Gatherings- If you didn’t get a chance to join us, Peter Roses did a great job coordinating the Nethercutt Museum tour. Thanks, Peter!!! I had not been there before and had no knowledge of the musical aspect of the museum. It was amazing! Great turnout for our club. We had 53 folks in attendance. In addition, the Queens English car show at Woodley Park, Van Nuys had another super turnout with great weather and a nice drive for those of us coming from the OC. By all indications, a lot of stories and catching up happened (as usual). It is always amazing to see so many classic British marques in one place at  the same time. The other big gathering in April is the Seal Beach car show on the last Saturday of April. We have about 40 cars going, both club people and our friends with other amazing cars as well. The Healey’s are always great crowd pleasers.

Future events/ get togethers- Our members’ cars are on their way to Norway for EHM 2023.

Steve is finalizing the planning with lots of information, tips and updates. The plan is to leave the Oirst week of June and be back the first week of July. The trip promises to be another amazing adventure. If you weren’t able to make the EHM in Norway, you may consider the Conclave 2023- 5 days in Healey paradise in Crystal River, Florida, being held May 21st-26th or the Austin Healey “Spring Thing” in Louisville Ky.

June 1st- 4th.

CHW 2023- The GGAHC continues preparation for California Healey Week (CHW) in Lake Tahoe.

CHW 2023 is planned for September Sept 18th through Sept 22nd. If you have not signed up, please do so. There are only 35 sign-ups so far, and they are at risk of it being cancelled due to go to the website and sign up ASAP, so the folks at GGAHC can get an accurate headcount. Lake Tahoe is amazing for its views, drives and adventures.

CHW 2024- The planning/coordination for CHW 2024 continues. We have received some responses to our requests for proposal and should have the short list pulled together over the next week or so. The plan is to have our selection made this summer and announce it at CHW in Tahoe. As mentioned before, if you have any recommendations, please send me a note.

Tech articles- I have had a few inquiries the tech articles on the website. They are very appreciated for the depth of knowledge and the sharing. If you’re doing an update on your cars, please consider sharing a short article on lessons learned. There is a diminishing pool of knowledge out there, as the old experts are retiring, so any help is very appreciated.

I hope to see you at the cars and coffees and our gatherings/drives.
