A Fun Sunday Driving 9/24

Early Sunday, 9/24, I arrived at the Marina Del Rey cars and coffee; a small gathering of many types of vintage, hot rod, muscle, and sports cars. The usual culprits (about 50 cars) showed up. We had Starbuck’s goodies for breakfast. At 0800 the usual GUMBAS: Sandy Bettlemen (Series1 Shelby Cobra), Dave Beugen (Austin Healey V8 nasty boy), Bruce Hand (the lightest Lotus 7 in the world), Frank Nesta (wonderful one-of-a-kind T top Corvette that he converted to a convertible), and I (in my 1974 Alfa GTV) headed for Woodland Hills Super Car Sunday show. After parking, we roamed around the huge show and kicked tires and enjoyed looking at the cars.

Next, we hit the road and traveled over Kanan Dume Canyon to PCH and headed south to Point Dume Park, relaxed and Sandy took a few picture while enjoying the scenery. Heading South on PCH again, we the stopped at Cross Creek Road in Malibu, had a nice lunch, then we all headed south on our own way home.

I went back to my shop and managed to put in the rest of the afternoon working on cars!!! Not a bad Sunday!
