British Invasion – Dana Point Festival of Whales

On March 11th & 12th, the club returned to Dana    Point for the 46th annual Festival of Whales.

There, we had a two-day car show called the    “British Invasion”. The AHASC, along with the    LA Jaguar Owners Club, invited other British cars    to attend, including MGs, Triumphs, Minis, Cobras    and a Morris Minor. All    told, about 30 cars    attended each day.

We were parked up on a    grass strip, next to the    public walkway in front    of the harbor...and had    great foot traffic and a lot    of interest in our classic    cars. The weather was    pleasant, with a mixture    of sunshine and fog. For    those who stayed    overnight, we had an    excellent dinner at the    Dana West Yacht club    Saturday night and a few    of us went back there for    Sunday lunch. In the    afternoons, wine    miraculously appeared    around cocktail hour.

Attending were Greg &    Sandra Aden, Mike Biss    & Anna Johansson, Mitch    & Lisa Gonzales, Marty    Hovivian, Steve & Cindy    Kirby, Chuck & Dawn    Lakowski, Duke Hingley,    George Merino, Tim &    Joyce McNiff, Jay & Katie    Miller, Terry Morgan,    Allan & Tina Perry, Peter    & Alexandra Roses, Van    Schultz, Mike & Kathy    Scroggie, Tom Spangler,    Tony & Debbie    Trentacost, Steve Yates,    and Jim Young.

This show was a good mixture of classic British cars; and the owners shared their stories and experiences    with the other owners and sightseers alike.
