Hope this Iinds you all well and you’re planning a great fall. We are right in the middle of Oktoberfest and Halloween is not far off.

Well, another GREAT Healey adventure is behind us and another one is planned. CHW 2023 in South Lake Tahoe was a great time with our Healey family. The weather was perfect, and the activities turned out great. We also announced the dates and location of CHW 2024 - May 13th-17th in San Luis Obispo. I hope you can join us for another GREAT time.

Gatherings- Lots of our folks are getting their cars out for the various car shows (Laguna Beach, Belmont Shores) and the weekly Cars & Coffee gatherings. And as mentioned, those of you spirited adventurers, you may want to check out the Golden Gate club’s website for upcoming drives and wine tours as well as the National club’s site for the get-togethers planned by the Midwest and back east clubs.

CHW 2023- CHW 2023 is behind us now. There were over 80 registrations of which the AHASC club had 35 of our members attending. The event had a beautiful  drive around the lake, a car show that was held at a beautiful venue right by the lake, California/ Nevada state line, and right by the Heavenly Valley gondola.

We also took a train ride through the Comstock lode area by Virginia City. At the car show, in a very nice shopping center right off Lake Tahoe Blvd, there were lots of folks who came to look at the cars and as usual ask questions and share their Austin Healey stories.

There were some beautiful Big Healeys, Sprites, and Jensen Healeys in attendance. When all was said and done, our folks walked away with 10 awards from the car show and more from the Funkhana.

CHW 2024- As mentioned above, we have settled on the date and location of CHW2024. We looked from San Diego to Paso Robles. We worked with 24 different venues and found the best one for CHW 2024. It is planned for May 13th-17th in San Luis Obispo. The hotel is on contract, and we are working through all the other details/costs. The plan is to open registration at the end of this year. There is some interest in the #1 registration, so we will have a bid for that position. Please consider joining us for this week. There are lots of fun things to do- drive to and tour of Hearst Castle, visit Morro Bay, car show, poker run, winery tours, Funkhana with even more fun and challenging games, and an old school drive-in movie for those interested.

Turkey Run?- Looking for any interest in a drive the week before Thanksgiving. We are thinking about a drive through the back roads up to Santa Barbara. Will put out more info as we get closer as to the date and logistics.

AHASC Board update- We still have the club Historian position unIilled. It is a challenging job, but if interested, please let one of your board members know. We can use the help.

Christmas Party- As a calendar reminder, we plan to hold our annual Christmas party at the Shoreline Yacht Club the afternoon of December 17th. We will open the sign-ups mid-October. Will get more information out as soon as it is available.

New members- Please join me in welcoming two new member to our club: Tom and Carol Hoppock from Hacienda Heights and Curt Hudelson from Long Beach. Curt has a 1965 BJ8 MkII.

As always, I hope to see you at the Cars & Coffee get-togethers and other gatherings/ drives, where we can regale one another with our stories. Stay well and enjoy the fall. Finally, the heat is behind us! Mike
