Hello all you Healeyphiles, Well, it’s been quite a month! Lots of Healey folks out and about! Early in the month 26 of us descended on Puerto Vallarta for our Healeys in Heaven Tour. It was a nice sized crowd at the luxurious Villa Premiere Hotel. Not only were we all parked at the pool together, but the hotel arranged group seating for our nightly eight-course dinners. Weather was perfect, the food was outstanding, and the socializing was superb. Several nights I saw small groups chatting away as I made my way to bed at 11pm! Best of all, we had a chance to participate in the Virtual Hook the Cure fundraiser and auction for Cystic Fibrosis. I am pleased and humbled to report that our small group raised over $29,000 for the cause! Way to go Healey people! Not everyone went to PV. We also had a small group join the Jaguar Owner’s Club Cal Clubs Meet in Morro Bay.
At the tail end of October, we had what was probably our biggest joint event with the Jag Club ever. One hundred and ten folks turned out for our James Bond themed event at the Petersen Museum, about half from each club.
The Healeys far and away stole the show.
So, a busy month. Also, during November, registration opened for the 6th European Healey Meet which will be held in Norway in 2023. We have eleven couples registered from our Club, plus two from Golden Gate and one from San Diego. More on the waiting list (the event is ofPicially sold out). On a lark, I decided to ask the Austin Healey Club of America to send out a little Plyer announcing the Meet and offering to include any others interested in our Tour plans.
The response was overwhelming and there are now 40 parties who have signed up. Sadly, all but sixteen of them are on the waiting list, but we are hopeful that things will change next Spring when the Pirst big registration payment is due.
Bottom line............the Healeys are out in force!
