Now for the Sunday Trifecta! Dex Kaytis, Peter Hutchings, Chuck Lakowski, Alice Johnson and John Hummer, and yours truly, showed up at the Balboa Peninsula Fun zone while it was still dark and chilly, to enjoy our usual egg/ham/cheese/jalapeno/avocado croissant with coffee to wash it all down. Member Larry Netherton was there with his dog ready to walk along the bay front.
I had a great drive in my BJ8, as there was hardly any traffic on PCH Southbound until nearing Brookhurst. The entrance to the beach parking was backed up with all sorts of Hazmat/ocean spill response teams for at least a mile, due to last week’s underwater oil pipeline rupture. They were all going to the huge parking lot staging area and supply storage to work on cleanup of the oil spill.
After kicking tires and telling some small tales, we all headed to the Legacy Cars and Coffee Show in Tustin. We arrived to find our paisan Tim McNiff already scoping out the featured Ford cars and trucks. Alice took some great pictures of the cars and people for this story. We enjoyed the fun and camaraderie of our tight group.
Way too soon, Dexter and I had to leave and head to Torrance for another car gathering. As I mentioned earlier, a trifecta of shows.
Ciao / Cheers
