Balboa Fun Zone 8/8

I got the chance to get my youngest grandson, Chip, out for a morning drive. This was his first visit from Maryland since the COVID Pandemic. We got up early and headed south on Pacific Coast Highway toward the Balboa Fun Zone C&C. On the way I wanted to show Chip some of the perks of getting up early with grandpa, so we made a quick stop in Seal Beach at a bakery called Sweet Jill’s and picked up a few essentials to consume later. We enjoyed the drive down to the Balboa Fun Zone. At this time of the morning there were very few people on the road so it made for a nice scenic drive along the ocean When we arrived, we parked next to Tim McNiff and headed over to the donut shop for our morning coffee (we were saving the good stuff from Sweet Jill’s for later) When we returned to the parking area, we were joined by Tom Spangler’s grandson, Andy, in the yellow Bug Eye Larry Netherton’s BJ8 was parked next to Andy, but Larry was still walking his dog along the Bayfront. Chip and I did a quick walk about to enjoy the cars while I finished my coffee. We missed seeing Tom and Page Rubinate this morning. A little added bonus was that we took the car on the Balboa Ferry when we left. We left a little early so we could also go to the Legacy C&C in Tustin. As always, great cars and even better company! Thank you, Tim, for the photos!
