On a beautiful sunny Veteran’s Day, the city of Tustin held a mid-week car show celebrating all veterans.
About 100 classic cars showed up, including Hot Rods, Rat Rods, American classics, and a few sports cars.
Also present were a variety of WWII army vehicles and armaments. A multi-service marching band was also there, led by a bagpiper. Many people attended in a variety of military uniforms, including from WWI and WWII.
At 11AM, a ceremony was held honoring all veterans and many U.S. veterans of all branches attended. The Colors were presented, the pledge of allegiance was said, the national anthem was sung and a bugler played Taps for those lost in battle. It was a very nice ceremony.
Those attending included Phil Caliva (Marine) in his retro Dodge truck, flying large flags of all U.S.
branches of the armed forces, Dex Kaytis (Army) in his Bugeye Sprite, George & Kathy McHarris in their Jensen Healey, Mike Scroggie (Navy) and Tony Trentacost in their Big Healeys and Tom & Paige Rubinate in their early 50’s Surf Wagon.
