Hello all you Healeyphiles, What a great Saturday I just had! I woke up early to clear skies and warm temperatures.
Went out to the garage and the Healey started right up. I hadn’t bothered to wash my hands or sanitize the steering wheel, but I did put on my driving gloves.
No mask in sight.
I had a great drive over to the coast where I met up with about a dozen and a half other Club Members and we all went to Ruby’s for a big breakfast. Lots of fun jammed into two big booths and sharing a pot of coffee and a big plate of donuts.
After breakfast we motored over to the San Clemente Cars and Coffee. There was a tremendous turnout. Must have been 300 cars and at least 1000 spectators. The place was cheek to cheek. I let a whole group of kids sit in my car for pictures while their parents huddled around the Healey.
After a couple of hours, a bunch of us decided to take a drive out Ortega Highway to Hell’s Kitchen. When we arrived, it too was packed with bikers, but we found a table out on the patio and shared a couple of pitchers of beer and a big plate of fries. More great conversation.
When it was time to leave, we all shook hands and headed home.
Back at home I found that Cindi had organized a bunch of the neighbors and we were having a block party. The parents all sat around having glasses of wine and sharing big plates of chips and dips, veggies and a variety of other appetizers, while the kids wrestled on the lawn and played tag. After a lot of hugs and kisses, we parted ways.
What a day! And then I woke up! Stay safe and hang in there. Things will get back to normal eventually.
