Hello all you Healeyphiles! What a difference a month makes! I don’t think the word “coronavirus” was mentioned once in the March newsletter. Now it’s part of every discussion, email, newscast, and social media post! Perhaps that comparison will help put this in perspective. This thing came on extraordinarily fast, hopefully it will fade as fast as well. Needless to say, you know that almost all auto related activities and venues have been cancelled or closed. Rendezvous is cancelled and refunds are being processed. Please be sure to cancel your hotel reservations directly with the hotel ASAP. Conclave in Florida has been cancelled and the Healey Roundup in Texas has been postponed. Greg Aden will give us the full run down in his column this month. Also, please check the Club Calendar on the website often for the latest updates.
I know that many of you are going a little stircrazy right now watching reruns on the MotorTrend channel! There is nothing stopping you from taking a nice long ride in your Healey except the occasional rain shower. In fact, the roads are mostly wide open and gas prices are falling. So, get out in the sunshine and give your left leg a little exercise! Do take care at gas stations however, as likely the pumps are not regularly sanitized. Use rubber gloves or even the paper towels to operate the pumps and dispose of those immediately (thanks to Janake Ratnayake for this suggestion).
