Another early morning drive to Pierce College in Woodland Hills for Super Car Sunday. The marque this month was “all- Porsche models”. And it seemed like all the Porsches in the San Fernando Valley and beyond showed up. Dustin and his crew were constantly roping off more parking for the Porsches that kept rolling in.
After I parked next to the food truck, easy access to coffee and breakfast burritos, I saw Dex Kaytis in his yellow bugeye followed shortly by Chuck Lakowski in his JensenHealey. I had passed Dex parked on the shoulder of the freeway just before the Pierce College off-ramp. Chuck said by the time he spotted him and circled back Dex had gotten AAA to bring him some gas. While we were discussing running out of gas, Fred Cohen pulled in and then the b*s*ing began. We moved on to food and coffee when the last Healey club member to attend showed up. David Thorne with his wife Lisa pulled in in their 1966 BJ8.
After catching up with everyone, it was time for a walk through the parking lot checking out the different Porsches on display in addition to the regular array of hot rods, classics, exotics and European models that show up every Sunday.
