The typically crisp, early autumn air yielded to a cloudless blue sky and the temperatures quickly warmed in Laguna Beach as the participants gathered for the 16th annual car show. A robust gathering of British  cars complimented the Austin- Healey class, and included Jaguars,  Bentleys, Rolls, MGs, Triumphs, Minis and an Austin American.

The Austin-Healey class was perhaps apocryphally sponsored by Laguna Beach Smog (do our cars smoke?). In spite of the potential impact on the local environment, six cars represented the Austin Healey Association of Southern California.

New members Lou and Diane Miraglia, and their companion Brutus, arrived in a black BT7 Mk II which was originally exported to Germany, and consequently had a number of features not typically seen on U.S. BN/BT7 cars.

Lou and Diane were awarded first in class. Second in class went to Rick Shoemaker and his red 1959 BT4.

Also in attendance were John Hummer and Alice Johnson (1957 BN4), Jimmy and DoraWinn (1958 BN4), Greg Aden (1958 Bug Eye), and your author (1960 BN7). Mike Scroggie brought his Porsche 356 and Tom Rubinate appropriately arrived in a IH Surfwagon, but we welcomed them nonetheless. I can’t recall when we’ve had three 100-6 models and not one 100 or Mk III. But such was the turnout.
