I arrived at the Petersen about 7:45 am, the fellow at the gate was acting a little strange but I wasn't sure why.
He gave me a parking ticket, but no exit validation and told me to park on the second floor. Once I got to the second floor things began to become clear, this was a special show for Corvettes only.
After parking I went to the third floor and spent ten minutes with the Petersen staff, trying to get a parking validation; they finally gave me one, but it became clear I wasn't welcome. Evidently the Corvette folks had paid to attend the event, which was to unveil the new mid-engine Corvette.
I got my bagel, was talking to the guy from Bring a Trailer when Dexter walked up, he had managed to get to the fourth floor and park. We spent about forty-five minutes talking to the guy from Bring a Trailer, the Hagerty lady and wandering around looking at the Corvettes. Most of the cars were late models.
About 9:00 am we decided to jump in our Healey-Vettes and take off. Hope to see club members at the August Cruise-in.
