Queen’s English Car Show - 4/7

On April 7th, 21 AHA members attended the 25th Annual Queen's English British Car Show. It was moved up a couple of weeks early this year due to Easter falling on their usual date.

In attendance in their Big Healey’s were Greg Cosh, Jon Doherty, Ron Fine, Corkey Holt, Bill Hoyt, Dexter Kaytis, George Merino, Win and Sue Phelps, Mike Scroggie (Nasty Boy) and Dave Thorne. In their Bugeye’s were Greg Aden, Chuck and Barbara Meng, John and Darrel Hedblom, Emil Joseph, Matt Meyer and Tim Weston. Bringing his Jensen Healey was Chuck Lakowski and Dave Buegen was in one of his Rolls Royce’s. Also attending in their BJ9’s were Guy Coldwell, Steve Gerow and Peter Roses.

Chuck was joined by five other Jensen Healey’s and a Jensen Interceptor to make an awesome showing of those cars. Hopefully Chuck was able to convince some of them to join the club.

The club members were joined by three other Bugeye’s and two more Nasty Boy’s, including past member Fred Cohen’s, to make it a very well represented marque at the event. We were close to having more Bugeye’s than Big Healey’s this year.

In looking around the field the most represented marques this year were MG’s and Triumph; with what appeared to be close to a 100 MG’s. I was also pleasantly surprised to see 10 Morris Minors this year. I may have my son bring out Sandra’s Morris next year.

Those that did not attend this year missed a great event, with perfect weather, green grass, and no wind or dust.
