The event was held at Louis Zamperini Field in Torrance this year. I got to the site about 7:30 in the morning and was shown to the parking area for the under 3000 cc class of British Cars. Greg Aden was already there with his Sprite, and Marty Hovivian with his 100. Corkey Holt and his car were in the 3000cc and up class next to us.
After putting the finishing touches on our cars, we walked around looking at the other cars.
This event attracts cars from the early 1900's to the 1970's. Since it was at an airfield there were vintage aircraft on display. My favorite was a P-38 that had flown in from the collection at Chino Airport.
Our cars attracted a lot of attention from the spectators attending the event. I was lucky enough to be interviewed by the Master of Ceremonies about the history of my car and our club. None of us won any awards, but we did get participation ribbons, which was neat.
As the day ended a rain squall came over just long enough to get things nice and wet, at which point folks started packing up. We had a good time at the event and are looking forward to this event next year.
