I write this column at 35,000 feet on the way home from three weeks in Europe touring with 11 other club members and attending the 5th European Healey Meet in the Black Forest of Germany. It was a great tour, which I will report on in next month’s newsletter.
All told, we covered over 3,000 miles through seven countries in 24 days...and all the Healey’s (and one Porsche) completed the tour as scheduled, but not without some battle scars.
While we were away, the club elections were held, and I’m proud to congratulate the new slate of officers (see Tim’s announcement), who will lead the club through the next two years. Steve Kirby, our new President, is on a European sabbatical for a few more months, and I have agreed to stay on until he returns.
With three months to go before California Healey Week in Solvang, we are working on final preparations for the event activities.
We now have over 80 parties registered and are looking forward to a great Healey Week.
If you would like to volunteer to help with the event, please let me know. The events include Registration, two drives, a Tech Session, Rocker Cover Racing, and the Car Show.
Happy Healeying!
