The Scottish Games at the Orange County Fairgrounds will be having a car show again this year, so it is officially on the calendar as the Club Event for the month of May. Be sure and sign up for one of the days as it is a lot of fun watching the various Scottish games and looking at the various clan’s displays of their unique badges. Of course there are also some great Scottish adult beverages for you to taste. Check out the details on their web site and if interested in participating either contact myself or Tom Spangler and sign up. We need to let the organizers know ahead of time the number of cars participating each day.
The June event will be the British Car Show at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo.
We will be meeting at the corner of PCH and Mariposa around 9:00 AM and drive in together.
Also keep your calendars open for the Central Coast British Car Club’s Show at the Channel Island Marina in Oxnard on July 15th where Austin Healey’s (the 100 and the Bugeye Sprite) will be the Featured Marque.
If you missed the Queen’s English show this past weekend you missed a great show. At my last count 23 Big Healey’s and 11 Sprites (10 Bugeye’s and 1 square body) were on display and it appeared that most of the marques had record turnouts. Make sure you check out Tim’s article.
In case anyone out there is interested a Bugeye just sold for $34,000 at the Ft Lauderdale RM auctions and a ‘67 BJ8 like Don Newman’s sold for $157,000 at Barrett Jackson; so who says that the British car market is dead and there is no interest in our cars! See you at the events
