The “British Invasion” Car Show was held in Dana Point in early March this year.
However, the weather did not completely cooperate. Saturday was rainy most of the day, but nine “hard core” enthusiasts showed their cars anyway. Included was a very interesting red 1952 Jowett Jupiter, one of the rarest sports cars in America.
Club members who showed their cars that day in the rain included Peter & Alexandra Roses in their 100-6, Tony Trentacost in his 3000 BJ8, Randy Clary in his Jensen Healey and Mike & Kathy Scroggie in their 3000 BJ8. Saturday night, a group of about 20 club members gathered at the Dana West Yacht Club (thanks to George Merino) for a nice visit over cocktails and dinner.
Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day and over 20 cars were on display, including Healey’s, Triumphs, Jaguars, MGs, a Lotus TC and a Morris Minor wagon. The Festival was well attended and our cars garnered a lot of attention.
Club members attending included those from Saturday and also John Hummer and Alice Johnson in their 100-6, Phil Caliva in his 3000 BJ8, Dex Kaytis in his 3000 BT7, Greg Aden in his Bugeye Sprite, and Mike Biss & Anna Johansson in their MG. Also attending without classic cars were Ron and Sandy Davies, George Merino and Bob Gomez, Sam and Denise Thoman and Bob & Carol Farnsworth.
