This morning was a little cool, but the sun was shining brightly as I headed to the event at the old Westfield Promenade in Warner Center. The upper parking lot was about 60% full when I arrived, but by 8:00am it was hopping with cars arriving every second.
In addition to my BJ7 there were two other “big” Healey’s on hand. Both were the product of Club member Russ Thompson’s restoration efforts. I was joined by Tom Spangler who came in his non-classic, the Sprite is still in the shop while Tom haggles with the insurance over repainting the car. Then Phil Caliva made his appearance after a short stay at the “secret” Malibu show and a drive through the canyon from the coast.
Super Car Sunday always has a wide variety of cars on hand: exotics, hot rods, mid-century classics and sports cars of every ilk. This Sunday I saw a really beautiful two-tone Bel Air, a classic Corvette and a chopped, lowered and stretched rarity. After a couple of hours, it was time to head back to the house.
