This year’s Laguna Beach show was again held on the South side of Laguna Canyon Road, in the parking lot across from the Pageant of the Masters, which has recently completed a $10M renovation. Because of this, the club decided not to sponsor our own Austin Healey class and we were judged in the British sports car group. In my opinion, this show is not nearly as good in the parking lot as it used to be on the pageant grounds. And because of the improvements, they may not allow the car show to return there in the future.
Nonetheless, the show attracted a good assortment of American classics, Woodies, Hot Rods, and European classics. The weather was clear and warm...a good day in Laguna for a car show! In the British category, there were six Healeys, about as many Jaguars and a few MGs and Triumphs. There was even a British Daimler saloon car as well as a few Cobra replicas.
Attending from the club were me with my recently refurbished Nasty Boy, Ed Neumeyer with his blue BJ8, Tim McNiff with his 3000, John & Alice Hummer with their primrose/black 100-6 and a prospective new member, Don Peltier, who brought a 100 (which won an award) and a 100-6.
