If you missed Monterey Healey Week, you missed a great event. Almost everyone who attended would agree. We had good weather, great drives, great food, and “bucket list” events like our visit and track time at Laguna Seca and the drive and visit to the Bruce Canepa showroom/museum/workshop in Scotts Valley.
The event wrapped up with a banquet and awards; where the AHASC walked away with many of the awards. This issue has major coverage on the event.
Now that this year’s major event is behind us, we are focusing on California Healey Week, 2018.
Since many on the organizing committee will be away at the European Healey Meet in June, we are looking at a fall CHW in the Solvang/Santa Barbara area. We will soon be soliciting proposals from hotels in the area. As I mentioned in a previous column, these events require a lot of work and we need volunteers to share the load. If you would agree to serve on the CHW committee, please contact me.
If you have not heard the news, George McHarris, long time member and former President had a horrible accident driving his beautiful Healey 100 in Las Vegas. Thankfully, George is fine. However, the Healey had severe damage and we don’t yet know the extent of repairs required to restore it to its former glory.
We all send our best to George & Kathy.
After almost 2 years of my Nasty Boy (Modified BN4) being under the weather, it is now back on the road again, better than ever. With an engine change (Ford 302), aluminum radiator, improved exhaust, and several other improvements, it has a new lease on life.
See you on the road… Happy Healeying, Mike
