This month the First Friday Road Show was held at the Annual Fish Fry in Costa Mesa.
Approximately 200 cars participated in the event. The first 100 cars and drivers to arrive were given a free fish dinner and a drink. Everyone also got a goodie bag with car care products. Not bad for a free show. I found three other British cars at the show besides my Sprite; another Bugeye, a Spridget, an Aston Martin, and a BSA motorcycle. The Auto Club had a very nice 1961 Dodge Polaris Highway Patrol Car on display (this was a real Patrol Car), complete with all the latest technology of 1961.
During the event several drawings were held: giving away car care products, a $500.00 detail job, two flight lessons, and various other items.
The People’s Choice was a 1940 Ford, Best of the Lions Club was a Chevy Chevelle, Best Paint a 1969 Ford Fastback, Best Interior a 1937 Chevy, Best of Show a 1955 Chevy Pick-up, and Club with the Best Attendance was the Orange County Mustang Club, they had 20 cars at the event.
Looking forward to this event next year, free food, sign me up! The next gathering for the First Friday Road Show will be back at Costa Mesa City Hall on 7/7/ 2017.
