There was a light turn out of club members for this month’s event due to the holiday weekend and the Scottish Festival in Orange County that kept many of the regulars from attending.
But the hardy trio of Greg Aden, Phil Caliva (in his 32 Dodge pickup with flags waving) and Dexter Kaytis made the trip up from the South Bay. The parking level filled up with late arriving cars like a racing-modified Honda 600 and a beautiful Mini complete with surf boards. Other cars of interest were a 1938 Lincoln Zephyr low-rider and a ‘32 Ford roadster next to it. After attending the Peterson gathering Greg, Phil and Dexter took their cars to the Marina Del Rey cars and coffee and then off to the Killer Shrimp gathering in Marina Del Rey with member Dave Buegen. There were a large group of cars including two immaculate ‘52 Cadillac convertible’s, an amazing Aston Martin DB5 and a gorgeous modified 1937 Mercedes 170S that Phil offered to trade for 10 of his cars, to name a few. Actually the cars there put the cars at the Petersen to shame and if you want to attend you need to get there early as the lot is full by the 10AM start time.
