As I planned to leave Glendale headed for Woodland Hills I checked the weather outside – bright sunshine, blue skies and cool temperatures, perfect! But as I passed the 405 Fwy going west on the 101, the horizon turned into a black curtain of clouds. The nearer I got to Topanga Canyon Blvd the heavier the mist became until I had to turn on the windshield wipers.
Arriving at the venue, I found a very sparse crowd. But as the sun shone brighter the crowd started to grow.
There were the usual collection of hot rods, muscle cars, exotics and the like. There were a few other British cars on hand: a Lotus Elan, an MGB, a ‘69 Triumph Spitfire, and then Phil Caliva’s BJ8 rolled in. It was after 8:00, but Phil had already been to Trancas Canyon with a friend.
After checking out the rows of cars, grabbing some coffee and talking Healey’s with a number of interested spectators it was time to hit the road. Put the top down, wiped down the car and then headed home.
All the happier for having gotten out with “Scarlet”.
