I received an e-mail from Mike Scroggie informing club members that Mike Biss had an extra entry for the Orange Plaza Car Show. This show is hard to get into, it sells out quick, needless to say I jumped on the opportunity.
Our group met at 5:30 a.m. at the Rite Aid parking lot in Orange and from there we got in line to enter the show. We had the cars parked by 6:30: an MG TC, Lotus Super 7, Ford GT 40, 2 Cobras, Mustang Fast Back, and my Sprite. Our spot was great as it turned out to be in the shade all day. About 7:00 a.m. Dexter and Peggy Kaytis came in with their Big Healey and were parked on the other side of the traffic circle from us.
We had a lot of interest in our cars, people were stopping by all day long talking to us about each car, and asking what the Super 7 was. Each of us had our cars judged, none of us won anything but it was fun. Turned out Dexter won our class, I guess they had all the European Sports Cars together in one class.
I had a great time at the show, it was a long day, but fun. I hope I have the opportunity to attend this show in the future.
