First, I would like to thank all the Members who attended the LA Classic Auto Show, and especially those who exhibited their Healeys. The commitment to display involved quite a bit, since the cars had to be delivered to the Convention Center on Thursday and retrieved on Sunday. That required at least two trips to downtown LA (never a pleasant adventure), navigating the rather complicated loading dock assignment, and having their cars in top condition.
Most of those exhibiting spent many additional hours in the booth, conversing with the hundreds of visitors who took interest in their cars. Their names are mentioned later in the newsletter. Thanks again, without you we could not have had such an impressive display.
In addition to those Members displaying, we had dozens of Club Members who visited during the show and a crowd of over forty at our El Cholo lunch on Saturday. A great showing for the Club and a few new members generated. The Show will be held again next year, this time in March, and we are already on the tentative list to display.
Looks like the weather may finally be turning a bit drier, so it’s time to get out for some driving. You will see in this issue we have a lot planned for Spring, with two events each in March and April. I want to especially urge you to come out the British Invasion in Dana Point, even if you don’t display your car.
The Club will have a hospitality area near the car show and there will be lots to do in and around the harbor, including a great Chili Cook Off for lunch on Saturday. The dinner, and of course the overnight option, are open to anyone, see the flyer in this issue.
See you soon in your Healey!
