From the President

Published on 11/1/2016

As we enter the Holiday season, we all have a lot to be thankful for. November and December are the months for family gatherings, celebrations and reflection on the present year and the upcoming New Year. One thing I will personally be thankful for is the end of the Presidential campaign season! On November 8th, be sure to vote for your favorite candidates and uphold the best traditions of our republic.

Recently I found myself with two Healeys not quite road worthy. We had a Tech Session on October 22nd that would have replaced the failed generator in my BJ8. We had to postpone the completion of this project due to unforeseen problems, see the “Dynamator” Tech Session article in this issue. Hopefully, we will complete this project by the end of October. My Nasty Boy issues are a more complex, involving a multi phased-project, that I plan to undertake this fall and winter…stay tuned.

November is the month we begin annual club renewals… didn’t we just finish last year’s? Near the end of November, all active members will receive a renewal invoice. Again, we will use the website to deliver these notices by email and you can either print it out and return it with your check, or pay online using a credit card. All renewals are due by December 31st. Please be prompt to minimize administration headaches and avoid disruptions of your membership.

Included again in this issue is the flyer and registration form for Monterey Healey Week next September, organized by the Golden Gate Healey club. This is an International event that will accept a maximum of about 300 entries, so don’t wait, get those forms in. Once submitted, you will get a confirmation in about 10 days that has a reservation number that you will use to book your room at the Hyatt Regency Monterey hotel.

Be sure to not miss the annual Christmas/Holiday luncheon on Sunday, December 18th…see the flyer in this issue. At this party, we will announce the winner of the 2016 Barnett Sprit Award and present the trophy. This year’s winner won’t be much of a mystery…see the latest point totals in this issue.
