I had a pleasant drive in my modified BN2 to Farmer Boys in the early Saturday morning overcast. The weather forecast was for rain in the evening but not during the day. Looking at the sky, I hoped that they were right this time. My fuel gauge was bouncing around a 1/4 tank so I stopped and filled up on the way so I could rest easy. It took 12.5 gallons to fill up! I was glad that I stopped. I was the first to arrive this time, just a little before 8:00 am. Usually Jimmie Davis is already there. He pulled in at 8:00 in his BN2.
The next to arrive was Steve Sunshine in his super tidy 1979 MG Midget, an original owner car that he drove off of the dealer’s lot. It's a real time capsule with only 24,000 miles on it. Allan and Tina Perry arrived in their BT7 with a new exhaust system installed. Nice and quiet until he revs it, then it growls. Next came Jim Cregg and Ralph Myers in Jim's 2010 John Cooper Works Mini. A true Monster Mini. It is number 470 of only 500 sold in the U.S. Lawrie Jordan arrived in his top-off BJ8. John Kresky was also there visiting the group. John is looking to purchase a Healey. He's leaning towards a 3000 Roadster if you hear of one for sale.
We stayed in the parking lot a little longer than usual this time enjoying the cars and the mild weather. All in all a good turnout and great way to start March before the rain comes. Cheers
