San Juan Capistrano Car Show # 2/6

February 6th was the 11th annual Historic San Juan Capistrano Car Show.  On a beautiful sunny day, we assembled early at the Starbucks in San Juan Capistrano for coffee before proceeding a short distance to the show grounds, a large park adjacent to several schools.  The show is run by the local Rotary in cooperation with the Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort (CARE) and had a large assortment (400 cars) of Hot Rods, muscle cars, classics, exotics, imports and some motorcycles.  Music, food vendors and Frisbee dogs entertained the guests.

There were some pretty amazing cars there, including three 200MPH+ exotics; a McLaren, a Porsche 918 and a Bugatti Vitesse.  Also present were two Mercedes Gull Wing roadsters.  Another classic sports car was AHASC member, Mike Biss’, 1966 GT40 MkII.

Our club’s attendance at the show was outstanding…we had about a dozen Healeys there.  Attending were Greg Aden, Dick Ames, Mike Biss (with both his GT40 and 100-M), Phil & Nancy Caliva (with their Nasty Boy and Alfa Romeo) , Mitch Gonzales, Charles Hilton, Dex & Peggy Kaytis, Jay & Katie Miller, Mike & Kathy Scroggie, Bruce Steele and Jim Young.

A very enjoyable day was had by all.  I was even able to recruit several owners of British cars to attend the Festival of Whales British Invasion car show in mid March!
