Spring is finally here!!!!- Hope you got your winter refresh done on your cars- We have already had a couple of great events: Festival of the Whales, Queens English and the British swap meet at Steve Kirby’s shop, and several more on the horizon, including the Seal Beach show in April and CHW2026 in May.
Along with the car shows and gathering I mentioned, there are several additional adventures in the works, including a tour of Hema’s shop, a drive through the So Cal mountains, and a leaf-peeping tour through CO and northern AZ in the fall. So many adventures this year!!! With a heavy heart I need to let you know that we have lost another longtime member and Great Healey Family member. Chuck Lakowski passed away last month after a long illness that he fought with everything he had. Chuck and Dawn are long time AHASC members dating back to 2015. They have two beautiful Jensen Healey’s that he restored. Recently Phil Caliva and Bob Bolling were helping him with an engine redo. Please keep Check and Dawn in your thoughts and prayers. He will be missed.
CHW 2026- Yep only one month away... The final details are being worked out including the poker run and scenic drive details. As a reminder, the festivities are planned for May 5th- 9th at the Best Western Plus Island Palms Resort and Marina on Shelter Island, San Diego. We have 54 registrations and 93 attendees signed up to date. This includes Healey folks from the Golden Gate, San Diego, Oregon, and Michigan clubs as well as AHASC. So if you haven’t done so, check out the event information on our club website and sign up. As with all of Steve Kirby’s planned activities, it will be a lot of fun, so I hope you can join us.
75th Anniversary International Healey Meet- We continue to update the International Healey Meet website so you should go check it out. It can be found at IHM2027.com. Also, the Regalia store will be opening shortly so watch for the notification. It’s hard to believe it is only a little over a year away. We are now at over 205 advanced registrations. The registration website should be opening in a little over a month, so if interested, please go in and check it out, including a video that talks about Lake Tahoe. As a reminder, the 75th International Healey Meet will be held in Lake Tahoe June 2027. There will be lots of great cars, exhibits, drives, and social events planned to keep everyone busy.
