Winter is almost over!!!!- and there are several great car events on the horizon including: the Festival of the Whales, Queens English, Seal Beach and CHW2026 in 2 months. So..... lots to do to get our cars ready. I am working on a door I picked up from “Gunny” Linde to replace the tired original I have that’s been sagging for years. Along with the car shows and gatherings I mentioned, there are several additional adventures in the works including a tour of Hema’s shop, a drive thru the So Cal mountains, and a leaf peeping tour through Colorado and northern AZ in the fall. So many adventures this year!!! CHW 2026- Yep, only two months away...

There are a lot of activities being finalized.

We are working with Laura Leyland and her folks from the San Diego club to make sure  we ID all the fun things to do and adventures to be had. As a reminder, the festivities are planned for May 5th- 9th at the Island Palms Resort and Marina on Shelter Island, San Diego. If you haven’t done so already, check your calendars and sign up. To date, we have 44 registrations and 78 attendees signed up.

This includes folks from the Golden Gate, San Diego, Oregon as well as Michigan clubs.

Please take the time to check out the event information on our club website and sign up.

As with all of Steve Kirby’splanned activities, it will be a lot of fun, so I hope you can join us.

Person of Interest- As mentioned last month, we have included our Person of Interest write-up for Monica Lago-Kaytis, our new club secretary and daughter-in-law of Dex Kaytis. As a reminder, if you have any fun Monica and Clay stories, please let me know. Our Person of Interest for next month is a LONG time club member- George McHarris. If you have any fun George stories, please let me know New Members- Please join me in welcoming two new members- Cary MacMiller from Tarzana.

Cary has a 1960 BN-7 MkI. Welcome Cary! As always, when considering having work done on your cars, please consider our sponsors.

They help our club and provide rare (albeit vanishing) and needed services and products.

Safe motoring, stay well and hope you are wrapping up your winter projects to make your beauties ready for spring. It’s less than a week til the Festival of Whales in Dana Point.
