LA Cars and Coffee 8/31

Left my house in Glendale for the quick ten-minute drive to Griffith Park for the monthly cars and coffee. But first, a quick stop at McDonalds for some breakfast items. Arrived shortly after seven to a partially Jilled parking lot and Clay, Monica and Phil already setting up their chairs. Parked next to Phil and then headed for the coffee. Once the stomach was satisfied it was discussion time; work on cars, cars being bought and sold, car shows in the future, and who was going where.

About 7:30 I got a call from Dan Burrola who was looking for the show area after driving to the Park from San Gabriel. After some explicit directions he pulled in and joined the group.

This show is getting to be quite the draw for the car lover.

You will see some cars that don’t usually show elsewhere, such as the Saab group. You will also see some interesting Japanese cars like the micro-van this month or the rare VW prototype to the Karman Ghia.

The really interesting car this month was the 1955 HRG roadster, a real British classic.

After a couple of hours of car fun, Phil had two other shows to attend and the rest of us were heading for home.

Come join the group the last Sunday of the month in the lot past the carousel in Griffith Park. You’ll enjoy the cars and the crowd.
