From the President

Mike Biss | Published on 8/1/2025

Well, we are halfway through summer and it’s almost time for pumpkin spice lattes. There is a lot going on as usual.

Steve Magoffin has graciously volunteered to be our club historian going forward. He has some big shoes to Hill following Bill Wilkman, but I know he will do an amazing job. The historical articles are always one of the high points of our magazine.

On a sad note, we lost a long-time member a few weeks ago. Sandra Aden, Greg’s wife, passed away after a long illness. Sandra loved our club and had fond memories of being with our club folks learning, talking and sharing stories. Please keep Sandra and Greg in your thoughts and prayers.

CHW 2025- CHW 2025 in Yosemite is only 2 months away. We are up to 98 registrants planning to attend now. We are still looking for a few volunteers for the drives and event coordination, so stay tuned. Contact me if you’re interested in helping. As an addition to the Yosemite stay, the GGAHC folks are planning a fall colors tour just before CHW 2025. As noted before, the fall colors tour will be going over several of the Sierra passes. There are several AHASC folks caravaning up to join them on one of the passes as well. It should be beautiful up there in the fall. As a reminder, CHW 2025 is the second week of October so if you are interested, we still have a few openings left. As I mentioned earlier, this CHW is a lot more focused on the social aspects, so there will be some amazing scenery along the driving routes as well as lots of socializing back at the lodging area.

CHW 2026- Steve Kirby, as our social director, is very busy getting bids for our 2026 CHW. We will be announcing the location and venue at the CHW 2025 awards banquet. As with all of Steve’s planned activities, it should be a lot of fun, so stay tuned.

75th Anniversary International Healey Meet- As promised, you may have noticed there was a “save the date” notification sent out to our club members as well as other clubs from across the US for the 75th Anniversary International Healey Meet. In case you missed it, the announcement can be found at HM2027.com, if you are interested, please go in and check it out. We have over 80 registrants already including several from overseas. As a reminder, the 75th International Healey Meet will be held in Lake Tahoe June 2027. There will be lots of great cars, exhibits, drives and social events planned to keep everyone busy.

Also, keep up the great support of the Cars and Coffee and British car night activities. It is always great to see so many beautiful Healeys out driving around. Also don’t forget about the Dana Point car show on August 24th. It is always a great show. As always, when considering having work done on your cars, please consider our sponsors. They help our club and provide rare and needed services and products.

As always, safe motoring and stay well!
