LA Cars & Coffee Griffth Park

Headed out just before7AM for Griffith Park. It’s an easy drive on surface streets for me. As I pulled up to the Stop sign by the Ranger Station, Monica Lago-Kaytis, in her white Bugeye, made a left turn in front of me heading up the hill to the parking lot where the coffee- klatch takes place. As I made my right turn behind Monica, Clay fell in behind me and we all proceeded to the parking lot.
Expecting to see Phil Caliva in the lot as we parked, we were disappointed - no Phil. Calls to his OG flip-phone went unanswered and we worried he might have injured himself the day before helping push start a Healey at the Seal Beach Car Show. Then my phone rang, Phil?, nope, it was Dan Burrola who was lost, having missed the turn at the Ranger Station. With the route now laid out he soon arrived to join us. Phil finally made his appearance after having to reroute to his shop and change cars.
There is always a nice showing of classics and the occasional exotic. The crowds have a good time viewing and asking about our cars and we enjoy seeing some cars that we don’t see at other shows.
Plus, the coffee and donut food truck is a welcome addition to the show.
