From the President

Happy Fall- I hope you are all getting into the holiday spirit. The weather has been great for driving our classics and meeting up at the get togethers. Keep your eyes open for an announcement about our second annual Turkey Drive. The plan is to hold the drive the week before Thanksgiving. If you were able to join us for last year’s drive, it was great (despite all the rain...). The upcoming AHCA delegates meeting is scheduled for this month. We’ll be discussing the future of the National club and how we can continue to improve our collective Healey experiences. More on what was discussed next month.

Sierra Passes Tour 2024- The fall color Sierra Passes Tour happened October 18-20th. By all accounts, the folks had a good time and shared lots of stories. The feedback was that it was a couple of weeks too late for peak colors in the Sierras but still a great adventure. Thank you, David Nock, for arranging the tour. He will be  doing another one next year, so we’ll keep you posted.

Annual AHASC Holiday party- 1 1⁄2 months to go- Please block off in your calendar Sunday December 15th for our annual holiday party. A note was sent out from the club. There is a link in the note to make signing up easy. Once again, the Shoreline Yacht Club has agreed to host our get together. As before, we will also be collecting toys and batteries for Toys for Tots. Plan to attend and if you are brave enough, wear your most festive outfit (or ugly Christmas sweater).

New members- Please join me in welcoming our two newest members- Matthew Harrigan from Santa Monica and Donald Judge from Yucaipa. Matthew has a 1959 Bugeye and Donald has a 1961 AN5 Mk2.

CHW 2025- Yes, you read that right!!! Yosemite, here we come!!! We plan to host it at the same venue as the Healey Week in 2016. It should be peak fall colors there at that time. The plan is to make it a CHW Lite- more socializing, a couple of drives and time to enjoy the local beauty with old and new friends. You should have received a “save the date” notification in the last few days, with the formal notification out shortly thereafter with a link to the site to sign up. The plan is for CHW 2025 to be the second week of October 2025. You will want to reserve your cabin as quickly as you can.

We will need to limit the number of reservations due to cabin availability, so sign up and reserve a cabin early. You may also want to buddy-up with your friends to help reduce the lodging costs.

As always, please keep up the great support for the local drives and events and check our website for upcoming events. Our rides bring a lot of joy to so many people. Also, when considering having work done on your cars, please think of our sponsors.
