Dana Point Lantern District Car Show 8/25

At 0600 our gang of bandidos gathered at our usual meeting point, the Chevron Gas Station off the southbound 405 Fwy and BellFlower Blvd. exit and then promptly proceeded south to the Dana Point Classic Car Show on Del Prado Avenue in the Lantern District. We arrived a little later than the Richard Schnyder group and we had to wait in line a bit longer, but when the line started moving it went fast and Flawless, the young volunteer workers did an excellent job of keeping things efFiciently moving along.

This is a premier event and it is a great one to be part of. I’m writing about the event and Chuck Lakowski shot all the great photos and they really showcase the event which makes us a great team. Many of our club members and our car guys friends attended this event, I encourage the rest of our members to come out and join us next year. This is a fantastic venue and the So Cal beach weather was the best you could expect. Chuck’s pictures depict the wonderful variety of Classics, Vintage Cars and Pick Ups, Muscle Cars of all ages, Hot Rods, plus a couple of really Armored Military Humvees The Members attending were: Greg Aden, Chuck Lakowski, Bob Bolling, Mike Biss, Anna Johansson, Tom Biss, Tom and Page Rubinate, Tony and Debbie Trentacost, Amanda Walker and Anthony Esposito ( they won the shows Foreign Car Award with their 1970 MGB split Bumper), John Hummer and Alice Johnson, Steve Heck and rounding out the members, is me with my1959 Chevy Apache 31/modiFied Pick Up. A really nice showing for the Club.

The no- members and good friends that makes up our Bandido Group are the following folks: Frank Nesta with a 1938 Morgan, his good friend Bryan Heizelbaker with a lovely 1966 Blue Corvette Convertible, Bruce Hand with his amazing Lotus 7, and Richard Schnyder with his Triumph TR6.

The spectators came out in great numbers and were very observant and had a great time. The young volunteer helpers did an excellent job making the show run smoothly, and an A+ to the whole organization that made this show so wonderful.

Hoping you consider attending next year’s show for a lovely time.

Cheers and Ciao, the Sicilian/Americano
