The recent heat wave in the San Gabriel Valley has taken a toll on our top-down Healey driving! But leaving my home on this slightly overcast Saturday morning was just the right Healey driving weather ... for the moment at least! Upon arriving at the UA meeting location, the First Healey there was Phil Caliva, then others started trickling in, including Chuck Lakowski, Mark Levoe, Tim McNiff, Emil Joseph, and Dex Kaytis’ family members Monica & Clay.

Conversation was very lively that morning, with Chuck having his Jensen Healey head rebuilt (vowing to get it back on the road very soon) and Phil being given the ultimatum that he could no longer purchase and work on PROJECT cars! Clay is the new caretaker of Dex’s BT7 and Monica in the market for a Bugeye Sprite.

As for myself, I met an old work acquaintance from 40 years ago, before he became famous: Bob Mosher of Mosher Dodge Performance Cars. A great conversation was had, and we will be meeting up again soon.

At this point the sun started to get very warm, so we all went in our different directions to cool down for the day! Happy Healey driving, Dan Burrola
