Greetings Group, We nabbed a break in the rain again for our April gathering at Farmer Boys in Riverside. It was, however, very cold since it was clear. My wife, and navigator, Sandy had an Art thing going on so, had to miss the brisk drive to Riverside. As predicted it was 39 degrees when I left Redlands at 7am. I was very glad to have a nice black fleece full head ski mask to wear. Sure, with my black leather jacket on I looked like a terrorist or perhaps a smash and grab burglar, but my face and ears were warm. I did have a spot of a bother keeping my glasses from fogging up, but did I mention my face was warm. At speed my glasses stayed clear, so I just had to keep the speed up in my modified AH 100.
What a fun car.
We had a nice showing of classics this time. It's nice to look at a line of cars that are actually different colors instead of shades of gray or different hues of white.
Those in Classics: Left to right - Bill Wilkman - '58 AH Bugeye Sprite, Ron Davies - '56 AH 100 Modified, Jim Cregg - '67 Mini Cooper S, Tom Yaeger - '58 Triumph TR3, Randy Clary - '73 Jensen Healey, Bill Cowison - '69 MGB, Dan Mensinger - '65 Sunbeam Tiger.
Those in future classics or daily drivers: Jimmie Davis - '03 Mercury Marquis, Randy Main - '07 Honda Civic, John and Marisue Meza - '23 Audi Q5 - Their new ride, Larry Reynolds - '23 Genesis G70 3.3T - His new ride, Bob Upton - '04 Chrysler Crossfire - out of picture, sorry, Charlie Bodenz - '08 Jaguar XJ8 - also just out of picture.
We had another enjoyable event. Come join us next month at 8am at Farmer Boys in Riverside on Alessandro Blvd. It's the Jirst Saturday in May. Which as it turns out is the 4th. As in "May the 4th be with you". Bring your light saber.
