Our First meet of 2022 was a resounding success with 8 Healeys, a Harley, a Fiat, a Porsche and 11 members up early in the morning.

With everyone aware of the latest Covid environment, reality came home with the passing of Rick Chew, the founding father of Early Rodders, our UA Meets official name. Rick succumbed to Covid the prior week and his friends held a short memorial to celebrate his life.

Friends and a few other attendees took time to tell anecdotal stories of Rick and his “helping hands” approach to his life.

I could not help but examine my own life’s journey and wondered what might be said of me at a similar memorial. Hopefully, there will be many Healey members on hand tell a few stories.

On the lighter side, before the memorial, our guys caught up on their latest Healey changes or updates on works in progress. New member and Sprite owner Amanda Cole and partner Art Perez debuted Amanda’s white 1960 Bugeye. Later in the morning six of us adjourned to Magpie’s for breakfast.

Attendees were Lon Bender, Dan Burrola, Amanda Cole and Art, Jon Doherty, Lou Fisher, Steve Gerow, Emil Joseph, Mark Levoe, Tim McNiff, Peter Roses, and Dennis Williams. Hopefully you will join us next month on February 19th for our next UA Meet.

Until then be safe.
