Super Car Sunday - 11/3

With a beautiful day dawning I headed for Pierce College for the Super Car Sunday gathering. The warmer weather was going to bring out the crowds and I wanted to get a decent parking spot. Today’s Marque was Dodge Vipers and there were some excellent examples on hand.

When I arrived, I didn’t see anyone from the club so I parked next to the food truck and unpacked my detailing supplies and chair. As I was wiping down the car and removing road grime and dead bugs up walked Chuck Lakowski. He was parked farther down the row and I hadn’t recognized the front-end of his Jensen-Healey. We exchanged pleasantries and wondered where the other “usuals” were. After grabbing a coffee and breakfast burrito we saw Dex Kaytis pull in to the far end of the parking lot with his truck and trailer. A few minutes later Dex had his Healey unloaded and parked next to me.

We roamed the parking lot checking out the lineup of Vipers and the other interesting cars that were on hand. In addition to a couple of classic examples of Corvettes I was impressed with a ‘49 Harley-Davidson that was displayed ‘For Sale’. I immediately sent an email to Louis Fisher who is always on the lookout for classic Harleys.

With the crowd increasing in size and the weather getting warmer I decided to head for home, the couch, and some pro football.
