From the Vice President

Well the LA Classic Car Show and Festival of Whales are behind us and we are on to a new month of Healey activities.  To everyone who missed attending the LA Car Show you missed a great gathering of the various classic cars here in So Cal.  Special thanks to Corkey Holt and Don Newman for agreeing to show their cars at the last minute and to past member Dominic Valentino who brought us donuts each morning to keep us going.  The 3rd Annual event is already scheduled for March 23-24, 2019 and the club will again be having a booth.

The April Club event is the Annual Queens English show on April 22nd and we normally have a large turnout of club cars.  With the recent rains the field should be nice and lush and not a dust bowl, so get your registration in early to get the reduced pricing.

We have not heard whether the Scottish Games will be having a car show again this year so I am still looking for a Club event for the month of  May and if you have ideas please drop me a note at the email address on p.2.

The June event will be the British Show at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo and keep your calendar’s open for the Central Coast British Car Club’s Show at the Channel Island Marina in Oxnard on July 15th where Austin Healey’s will be the Featured Marque; so let’s have a big showing again this year.

If any of you are into watching the car auctions there is a great app out there that gives you the latest results for all the auctions around the world so you can keep up to date with what’s going on with Healey prices.  It’s called “Hammer price live” and it’s free.  In looking at the latest results it is interesting that in the latest auctions in England none of the Healey’s met their reserve! See you at the events.
